As a representation of our basic enlightened nature, the Rigden embodies the principle of unconditional bravery. Historically, Rigdens were enlightened rulers - those who could "rule their world" based on an unwavering experience of basic goodness. The "Rigden Weekend" Is a culmination of the Heart of Warriorship and the corresponding WOS courses.

Way of Shambhala
Way of Shambhala courses and the corresponding Shambhala Training levels are the beginning of the Shambhala Path. The Way of Shambhlala course series are meant to provide community and support for your practice, as well as continuity throughout the Shambhala Training levels.
The Way of Shambhala courses are presented by experienced Shambhala teachers under the guidance of the Shambhala lineage holder, Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche. Participation in the first two Series (Meditation in Everyday Life and Contentment in Everyday Life) is open to anyone without any prerequisite studies. But participation in the remaining courses — III thru VI — each require completion of the previous course.

Birth of the Warrior |
Continuing on the path, the meditation experience is deepened through cultivation of contentment and simplicity. We explore the foundation views of the hinayana Buddhist teachings and meditation in action for daily life. Through understanding the conditions and emotions that keep us trapped in habitual patterns, we can begin to express the qualities of the Tiger: gentleness, appreciation and steadiness. |

Warrior in the World |
In this series we begin to cultivate the noble heart of the mahayana teachings – opening to the virtue and celebration of compassion. Through practical methods we further develop kindness toward ourselves and others. We emphasize the joy and invigoration that come from discipline. The Lion represents the qualities of cheerfulness, health and freedom from doubt. |

Awakened Heart |
Through an exploration of the Buddhist teachings on emptiness and clear-seeing – meditation mixed with the vastness of space – we are opened to groundlessness, uncertainty and the creativity of the world as it is. By exploring the entrapping emotions of hope and fear, we learn to soar fearlessly like the mythical bird known as the Garuda. |

The practitioner is introduced to the vajrayana teachings of Buddhism which look at the sacredness of the phenomenal world. Students receive essential instructions for transforming confused emotions and situations into wisdom as they arise. No longer deterred or depressed by obstacles, but with tremendous forward vision and strength, the Dragon includes everything as part of the path. In this way the warrior skillfully benefits the world. |
