Community
"Sangha" is the Sanskrit term for "community of practitioners" - one of the three jewels of Buddhism. This Shambhala Meditation Center is home to a wonderfully diverse community who share a genuine connection to contemplative practice and the aspiration to realize a more wakeful, sane society. We welcome anyone who want to join our community. For newcomers, we offer our Tuesday night open house, which is a wonderful night to experience our community. We also offer many other open sitting and discussion groups. Please come and experience our rich community of practioners. And don't hesitate to become a member.

"The Tibetan word for sangha, gendun, means "those who are engaged in virtue." At the basis, virtue really means always being concerned about others. A community is people who are engaged in virtue together. […] What is the best way to do this? Always thinking about others. In fact, it is said that if we can accomplish the welfare of others, our own wishes are immediately or simultaneously accomplished."
